Description
The Royal Bangkok Symphony Orchestra Foundation, in collaboration with B. Grimm Group Ltd. presents the return of the popular Waltz in the Park at Lumpini Park at 5:30 pm on Sunday, the 23rd of March 2024. The aptly named Lumpini Waltz Festival will consist of a selection of Waltz music led by maestro Charles Olivieri-Munroe—one of the most travelled conductors, having worked with numerous symphonies worldwide. After 16 years as Music Director of the North Czech Philharmonic, where he now holds the position of Honorary Chief Conductor, he is Principal Guest Conductor with the Thüringen Philharmonie in Germany.
Waltz dates back to late 17th century Europe; its accompanying Music is a dance music genre in 3/4 timing with long flowing moments and rhythmic patterns. It typically features one chord per measure, with a specific accompaniment style. The name "waltz" comes from the German verb "walzen". There are even connections to the 16th-century Volta. Waltz music has remained an enduring expression through its unique forms and style.
Bring your friends and family to Lumpini Park to celebrate an evening of waltz by dancing along with music by the RBSO.
*Programme may be subject to unavoidable change.
